Between touring alongside bands like Luna and Arab Strap, John relocated to Los Angeles, where he collaborated with Hole’s Eric Erlandson and contributed music to Fischer Spooner’s 2005 album Odyssey. He returned to New York in 2005 and began developing his second long-player, American Dreamsicle, which was recorded with the same instrumentalists as from his first album. The record was released on Smells Like Records in 2007 as a 2XLP set, including his self-titled album debut on vinyl.
